A 19-year old ThankGod Christopher has been arrested and charged before a Lagos court for allegedly arranging a robbery attack on a 45-year old housewife where he also engaged her in s*x romp without her consent.
The incident took place in Badagry area of Lagos at a place called MTN when the husband of the victim was not around. It was gathered that while other members of the gang were busy searching for valuables to steal, Christopher reportedly marched the woman to her matrimonial bed, pulled her clothes and had penetrated her severally.
As he was having the s*x with the woman, other members of the gang watched the dastardly act. After that, they carried their plasma television, microwave oven, phones and other valuables and left.
After news broke of the incident, many of the residents were shocked as they couldn't fathom what could have attracted the teenager to the older woman. Worst still, the boy resides in the same area with the woman where the incident happened.
In the morning, the victim went to the Badagry Police Division and reported what happened to her and also hinted those behind the assault. The information led to the arrest of the suspect by State Anti-Robbery Squad, Ikeja Lagos.
The other members of his gang were said to be at large but Christopher confessed and gave the police useful information on how to track the other gang members.
He was charged before Magistrates court sitting in Ikeja for robbery and rape under the Criminal Code. He pleaded not guilty. The presiding Magistrate, Mrs. C.A. Layinka granted him bail in the sum of N300,000 with two sureties in like sum. He was remanded in prison custody pending when he will perfect his bail. The matter was adjourned till 8th of August, 2017.
The suspect showed remorse as he was being taken to prison custody.
