The recuperating wife of the slain aide of Benue State Governor has asked a heartbreaking question in hospital. Mrs. Mlumum Adyorough, the wife of the slain aide to the Benue State Governor, has started recovering from the attack which led to the death of her husband, Dr Tavershima Adyorough.

However, she had yet to be  informed of her hubby’s death. According to Reporters, the woman enquired about the husband from the state Deputy Governor, Benson Abounu, on Monday, when the latter visited her at the Intensive Care Unit of the Benue State University Teaching Hospital in Makurdi, Benue State.
Mlumum, on sighting the deputy governor, said, “I hope my husband is fine?  I hope the attackers are not political thugs?” Each time she asked about her husband, the deputy governor nodded, saying, “He is fine.” She commended doctors at the teaching hospital for the prompt attention which saved her life.

Abounu, who led members of the state executive council to the hospital on Monday, told journalists that the state government was committed to stopping politically-motivated killings in the state.
He said,
Quote
“My first reaction is that of shock, in the sense that this killing is completely unnecessary. It is a very wicked and atrocious act. This was a gentleman who was loved by everybody; completely apolitical. He never raised his voice against anybody. Honestly, we were completely caught off-guard.
“We want to know the motive for the killing because as of now, we are at a loss. As a government, I can tell you that we will not rest on our oars and we are going to do everything possible to bring this to an end.”

The medical team in charge of the treatment said quick response was the reason Mlumum was still alive. The couple were attacked by some gunmen on Sunday at their home at Nyinma layout, in Makurdi, the state capital.
Tavershima died on the spot
