Michael Jackson’s First Moonwalk Socks To Be Auctioned For $2 Million

Michael Jackson’s socks he wore for his first moon-walk on stage is set to be auctioned for $2 million upwards for the pair.

The custom-made, crystal-covered socks was worn almost 40 years ago by the legendary Michael Jackson when he performed his iconic moonwalk for the first time on stage. Jackson wore at the legendary “Motown 25: Yesterday, Today, Forever” TV special in 1983 are now hitting the auction block.

Gotta Have Rock and Roll, the online auction site offering the socks, estimates the pair will go for upwards of $2 million.

The socks are part of Frank DiLeo collection. DiLeo is the late music exec who signed Michael Jackson to Epic Records and managed him from 1984 to 1989 following the massive success of “Thriller.”

The items came along with a signed letter from Michael to Frank DiLeo. In the letter, the late Pop King said the socks were a token of appreciation for keeping on his “toes” throughout his famous Victory Tour.

According to TMZ, there is also a letter from DiLeo’s wife attesting that Michael wore the socks for his debut moonwalk during the TV special along with a certificate of authenticity

The auction starts November 13 till 22, and bidding is set to begin at $100,000. Ed Kosinski, CEO of Gotta Have Rock and Roll, said the socks look “heavily worn,” but he couldn’t say for sure how often they were worn after the Motown show.

The socks aren’t the only Jackson memorabilia to go on sale. His “Suit of Lights” from his “Victory Tour” era is expected to fetch upwards of $20,000. A Chicago Bulls jersey signed by Jackson and Michael Jordan is also expected to get up to $20,000.

Now i have a question.... if i buy this socks, what will i do with it?   wear it? frame it and keep....if i frame it, if i tell anyboday its MJ's socks, and the person say na lie, how will i convince them, it could be any socks for all they care.....if i wear it, where i wan wear am go.............in summary, i no fit buy the socks if i have the money...and i feel its stupid to buy such socks for that ammount
