ASABA — HELL was let loose on Monday night in Asaba, Delta State capital, when a Mobile Policeman shot dead a commercial bus driver over alleged traffic offence.
The incident took place between Traffic Light and Mammy Market along Nnebisi Road, Asaba. Vanguard gathered that the policeman and his colleagues were in a Hilux van, when the said bus driver reportedly hit the van and fled. The policemen pursued him and as the escort van tried to double-cross him, the bus driver jumped out of the bus and started running but the trigger-happy policeman shot him at the abdomen and he died immediately.
Vanguard gathered that immediately the bus driver gave up the ghost, passersby mobbed the policeman, who fired the shot while other policemen in his company fled. He was beaten to pulp.
Also the same night, rival cult groups clashed in Asaba, shooting sporadically, which forced many shop owners to lock up.

na today we begin hear dis kind of story ? e don tay wey yansh dey for back. In a naija you will always
thru the media read about.....armed robbers in some show down with the police in so so so 'n' so place 'n'  that
two armed robbers were killed while three others escaped with bullet wounds...and that four officers of the police force who also recieved bullet wounds are recieving treatment  while all will be put in place to ensure that
the runaway robbers are rounded up..this happens once in some while ...whereas on the other side...the story goes that a student/s,pregnant women, youth corpers,
taxi /bus drivers, okada riders 'n'etc are shot at one city, town or village on daily basis, WHY, ?Is it because civilians are not
allowed to carry arms in naija ?The police should not forget that for every action that there is usually an equal 'n' opposite reaction.
One day the civilians would be pushed to the wall somewhere 'n' the very unexpected would happen. And until then my name na siddon look.
am off to catch a taxi pls, pals.
