
27-year-old Shamma bint Suhail Faris Al Mazrui born on February 22, 1993, is an Emirate politician who is Minister of State for Youth Affairs in the United Arab Emirates.
To begin her journey in the professional world, Al Mazrui began work at in private equity in an Abu Dhabi sovereign wealth fund. She also served at the United Arab Emirates’ Mission to the United Nations as a public policy analyst and even interned at United Arab Emirates’ Embassy in Washington D.C.
In February of 2016, Prime Minister Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum appointed Al Mazrui as Minister of State for Youth Affairs after he tweeted asking for the nomination of a young person for the role. At age 22, Al Mazrui became the youngest member and one of eight women in the twenty-nine member United Arab Emirate cabinet as well as the youngest government minister in the world.
Her goal is to focus on creating a bridge between the youth of the United Arab Emirates and the government, representing them and their issues, aspirations, making sure their voices are heard on the ministerial council, and developing a strategy for improving their lives and their engagement in society and government.
Her Nigerian counterpart, Sunday Akin Dare, was born in 1966. He's 54-years-old.
