Actor, Williams Uchemba has come under criticism by some traditionalists after he poured away the palm wine his wife gave him on their traditional wedding day.
Recall that the Nollywood actor traditionally wedded his wife, Brunella Oscar few days ago at her hometown in Anambra state.
And on Saturday, November 21, the lovely couple had their Church wedding in a star-studded ceremony which had dignitaries in attendance.
In attendance were; his best friend Comedian AY, Falz, Billionaire E-Money, Billionaire Obi-Cubana, Kcee, Gospel sensation – Frank Edwards, Peter Okoye, Ufuoma McDermott, Pretty Mike of Lagos among other dignitaries.
The actor has now come under heavy criticism after video clips from his traditional wedding captured moment he poured away the palm wine his wife handed over to him which according to Igbo tradition, he was meant to have drank it.
While some supported Williams’ decision by saying “days are bad” and “times are evil”, others said the actor’s refusal to drink the palm wine which traditionally was handed over to his wife by her father is a proof that Williams does not trust his in-laws enough to drink a palm wine they gave him.
Check out some of the reactions below;
Quote
Chioma Eze Akubueze commented, “It simply shows that he doesn’t trust his in laws because the person who gives you the drink will drink from it. This happens when one nurtures himself that the evil people are waiting for him in the village while in the real sense the evil people are in your office or business places,your neighborhood,your church even among your friends. That we are alive is by Gods grace not our making. Children of this new generation have turned everything upside down.”
Chivalry Loveleads wrote, “I saw that his action,he was just being careful and protecting his life but that action doesn’t portray any good about Igbo lovely culture. I thought he would have done it in a mature way that nobody would have noticed what really happened.”
Joe Black commented, “Drink what make una forget that thing abeg the gods has nothing to do with drink in a marriage. The world is so wicked now even the gods himself knows it ,his marriage is fully blessed bro”
Olwuchi Jovita wrote, “Wisdom is profitable to direct. How refusal to drink doesn’t determine how genuineness of his love to his wife or inlaws. May God bless their union.”

What is TRADITION. men made tradition for men,, not men for tradition. He should have done it secretly, that's my opinion. But drinking it is up to him. WE BLACKS SHOULD GROW UP,, NOT ALL TRADITION IS FOR OUR GOOD.

Before passing the cup containing the palmwine, his wife as tradition demands must first of all drink a little of the palmwine by sipping it but she refuses to that, then no man should accept to drink such palmwine from his in-laws.

What is the noise about? Its his life, I too did not drink mine even at the white wedding toast, I prayed & dipped pretending to drink but didn't take a sip, I told my wife & she did same. If e vex u na u know, u are not the gods or God or custodian of the tradition. Williams is a deeply spiritual minded person so let it be.

Let the amalá speak....cos am from the custodian of ndi amalá....No matter how you try to portray this,He supposed to have had a sip from the drink after his wife too must have first sipped from it,then after him drinking the wine,he should put some money inside the cup of drink and give it to his wife.... But in his own case,is so obvious that he knows anambra people are very wicked wetin go carry me go marry for anambra,enugu,abia.....you see these places,run from them.

I can't stand these critics who cling to everything they see. If they can see a jamb or flaw, they can simply destroy a person with their negativity. What kind of nasty creatures are people. Anything can happen. We're all human. He was just nervous, which is why he spilled the wine. Wine is indeed a pity to pour in any case, especially if it is expensive. By the way, I recently also gave a friend at a wedding a whole case of excellent wine. Of course, I bought this case of wine at a discount that I received on https://newbiedeals.com/wine-welcome-offers/. I think this is the best gift you can think of.
