Samuel Eto’o Apologizes For Losing His Temper & Attacking a Photographer At On-going World Cup

Cameroon Football Federation president, Samuel Eto’o, has apologised for the “violent altercation” he was involved in with a man outside a World Cup stadium on Tuesday.

Footage that has gone viral on social media showed Eto’o then reacting to comments by a man with a camera.

He was initially held back by those in his entourage before he broke free and aimed a kick at the man, who then fell to the ground.

On Tuesday, Eto’o posted on Twitter, explaining his side of the story.

“I would like to apologise for losing my temper and reacting in a way that does not match my personality. I apologise to the public for this unfortunate incident.

“I pledge to continue to resist the relentless provocation and daily harassment of some Algerian supporters.

“Indeed, since the Cameroon-Algeria match on March 29 in Blida, I have been the target of insults and allegations of cheating without any evidence,” Eto’o’s statement read in part.

The man, Algerian YouTuber Said Mamouni, uploaded a video on YouTube revealing he was at a police station in Qatar to file a complaint against Eto’o.

According to Mamouni, Eto’o became violent after he asked him if he had bribed Gambian referee Bakary Gassama in a 2022 World Cup qualifier between Cameroon and Algeria in March.

Cameroon won the second leg 2-1 in the last moments of the game and qualified on the away goals rule.

Stupid question to ask. So let's assume he did bribed the ref, you expected him to tell you what?? That "yes" he bribed him?? Your freedom of speech will get you red eye and a broken camera.
