Don’t Give The Poor What Belongs To God, It’s Not Every Poor Person You Should Help - Pastor

A Ghanaian preacher, Rev. Dr. Kwadwo Bempah has stated that people should not give what belongs to God to the poor. In a video which surfaced online, the clergyman during a church service told his congregants that it is not every poor person that should be looked upon with mercy.

According to him, some of the ones who are poor are simply going through the punishment for what evil deeds they had done in the past. His teaching has sparked a myriad of reactions from netizens who hold diverse opinion on this.

Proverbs19:17 Whoever is generous to the poor lends to the Lord, and he will repay him for his deed.

Proverbs 22:9 The generous will themselves be blessed, for they share their food with the poor.

Proverbs 22:16 Whoever oppresses the poor to increase his own wealth, or gives to the rich, will only come to poverty
