
The Ebonyi State Ministry of Commerce and Industry is in terrible condition following windstorm that blew off parts of its roofs, ceilings, doors, windows and destroyed many documents in the offices.
The administration of Chief Martin Elechi, had constructed new secretariat for workers in the state and relocated the secretariat to the centenary city, New Government House, Abakalikki, the state capital. But some of the buildings are now in deplorable conditions.
The Ministry of Commerce and Industry is one of them. New Telegraph correspondent who visited the ministry yesterday saw the state of the building with many offices destroyed as a result of windstorm. The offices have been in that deplorable conditions for months now.
The new Commissioner in the Ministry, Oguzor Offia Nwali described the condition of the Ministry as terrible and unacceptable.
Addressing staff of the Ministry while assuming office, Nwali directed that reports on the condition of the Ministry be brought to him on Monday and vowed to rehabilitate it to enable workers to work effectively.
