A 41-year-old man, identified as Abubakar, yesterday, reportedly hacked to death in the presence of his wife and aged mother by his friend, Usman Muhammed, in the Badariya area of Birnin Kebbi, the Kebbi state capital.
It was gathered that the friends had a misunderstanding which made Usman trace his friend, Abubakar, to his house with machete, which he used to attack him in the presence of his family members.
Kebbi State Police image maker, Nafiu Abubakar, who confirmed the incident said the deceased’s aged mother, who attempted to stop the hacking of her son, was too weak to stop the assailant due to her age and in the process, she sustained severe cuts on her hands.
Nafiu added that the suspect has been arrested and handed over to the homicide section for investigation after which the suspect will be arraigned in court.
