In a poignant revelation, the mother of Nigerian musician Mohbad has shared the emotional turmoil surrounding the burial site of her son, shedding light on a dispute that has left her bereaved and unsettled.
Speaking out about her son's wishes and the ensuing conflict, Mohbad's mother recounted how her son had expressed his desire to build a home for her on a piece of land before his untimely demise. She revealed that Mohbad had envisioned the property as a place for her to reside comfortably, away from the constraints of rented accommodation.
"The land where they buried Mohbad, he wanted to build a house for me there," she lamented. "He said when I leave the rented apartment I'm living in, instead of moving into another rented house, I'll just move into the house he builds for me."
However, the grieving mother revealed that her son's plans were abruptly disrupted by a disagreement between Mohbad's father, Josy, and himself. According to her account, Mohbad's father intervened in the building process, expressing his desire to construct a church on the land instead.
Recalling the distressing moment, Mohbad's mother expressed her shock and disappointment at the sudden turn of events. "That day, I was shocked because I was already certain that my son would build a house for me, and that's where I'm going to live," she said.
Despite her hopes being dashed, Mohbad's mother attempted to reconcile the conflicting desires of her husband and son. She recounted bringing both parties together to address the issue, only to witness Mohbad signaling to her not to pursue the matter further.
Referring to her son's gesture, Mohbad's mother revealed how she acquiesced to his wishes, choosing to abide by his decision. "He rented another apartment for me in Ikorodu," she disclosed. "I didn't talk about it any longer, but he kept requesting for more from Mohbad."
The revelation offers a poignant insight into the complexities and challenges faced by families dealing with loss, highlighting the enduring love and sacrifices made by parents for their children.
