Reality TV star and chef Uriel Oputa has responded to critics questioning her single status, stating that marriage is not a universal goal.
Addressing the issue on her Instagram, the entrepreneur emphasized that marriage shouldn’t be seen as an achievement, reducing any pressure from family or the public.
Uriel firmly stated her disregard for seeking validation on social media regarding her marital status, stating her personal choice not to share her relationship status online.
“Marriage isn’t for everyone. If you think marriage is an achievement, that’s on you. How do you know I’m not married? Do you think everyone needs validation from social media?” Uriel wrote.
Reaffirming her stance, Uriel reiterated her reluctance to divulge her partner or relationship status on social media platforms.
“I would never post my marriage or my partner’s full face here. Age-shaming and marriage-shaming is so 2018. Let’s maintain this energy and save the lives of young men and women,” she said.
