In a tragic incident on the Ikorodu-Ogijo Sagamu expressway, two individuals lost their lives following a collision involving a Silver Toyota Camry and a Yellow Mercedes Benz Truck.
The accident occurred around 5:30 pm on Friday and was confirmed by Florence Okpe, the Public Education Officer of the Ogun Sector Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), early Saturday.
According to Okpe, the vehicles involved were a Silver Toyota Camry with registration number EPE602JD and a Yellow Mercedes Benz Truck with registration number AA938YE. The crash involved three male adults, resulting in two fatalities while the third passenger escaped unharmed. The bodies of the deceased have been handed over to their families.
Okpe attributed the cause of the accident to excessive speed and loss of control, which led to the devastating collision.
Expressing his condolences, Sector Commander CC Anthony Uga urged motorists to avoid speeding and maintain full attention while driving. Uga also emphasized the importance of installing speed limiting devices on trucks to prevent such tragedies in the future.
