Adamawa Police Arrest Suspected Bag Snatchers, Aminu Aliyu & Salisu; Recover Stolen Items

Police operatives in Adamawa State have successfully apprehended two suspects involved in a bag-snatching incident targeting a female youth corps member in Mubi North Local Government Area. Two other suspects remain at large as investigations continue.

According to SP Suleiman Nguroje, the Adamawa State Police Public Relations Officer, the incident occurred on June 10, 2024, when Paulina Ayuba, a corps member, was accosted by four young men on a tricycle while walking along a road in Mubi North. The suspects forcefully seized her phone and swiftly fled the scene.

"In response to her report, our operatives swiftly moved into action," Nguroje stated in a statement obtained by DAILY POST on Saturday morning. "We have arrested Aminu Aliyu and Salisu Muhammed, both 18 years old and residents of Kasuwan Borkono, Mubi. They were apprehended with the assistance of recovered items including the stolen phone and the tricycle used during the crime."

Efforts are currently underway to locate and apprehend the remaining suspects who managed to evade capture during the operation. The police continue to urge the public to assist with any relevant information that could aid in the swift resolution of this case.

SP Nguroje assured residents of Adamawa State of the police's commitment to maintaining peace and security across the region, emphasizing the importance of community cooperation in combating crime and ensuring public safety.
