American rapper Rich Homie Quan, who charted the Billboard Hot 100 with songs like “Type of Way” and “Flex (Ooh, Ooh, Ooh)”, died on Thursday, September 5, according to media reports. He was 34.

The rapper died at his home in Atlanta, TMZ reported, citing his family and a representative for the Fulton County morgue.

The office of the Fulton County medical examiner declined to comment.

The rapper, whose name is Dequantes Devontay Lamar, started his career in 2011. He saw mainstream success with one of his songs reaching No. 26 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Reports indicate that the rapper may have died from a drug overdose.

At the age of 34, the Atlanta rapper was recently seen attending the trial of Young Thug, the head of YSL Records, who is facing RICO charges related to gang activities.

Several celebrities have acknowledged Rich Homie Quan’s passing, including rapper Boosie, who confirmed the overdose reports on social media.

Rich Homie Quan was affiliated with Young Stoner Life Records, owned by Young Thug.

He gained recognition for hit songs such as “Type of Way,” “Flex (Ooh, Ooh, Ooh),” and “Lifestyle,” the latter featuring Young Thug and Birdman. Throughout his career, which lasted over a decade, he released nearly 20 albums.
