A wave of protests hit the streets of Ibadan, Oyo State, as some Nigerians demonstrated against the deepening economic hardship facing the nation. The protest, which had been planned by several groups to coincide with Nigeria's Independence Day on October 1, saw citizens voicing their frustrations over poor governance.

While the main protest began in Ikeja, Lagos, the Ibadan demonstration faced tighter security measures, limiting the number of participants. Despite the heightened police presence, a handful of protesters managed to gather and make their voices heard.

One of the protesters held a placard that read, "End bad governance now," echoing the central theme of the demonstrations aimed at holding leaders accountable for the nation's ongoing struggles.

The protests highlighted the growing discontent among Nigerians, many of whom are struggling to cope with the country's economic challenges and the perceived failure of leadership to address key issues.
