A tragic fire incident occurred at a lounge and bar on Baale Road in the Olodi Apapa area of Lagos State on the morning of Sunday, October 13, 2024.

The fire, which broke out around 7:45 am, claimed the lives of four workers, who were burnt beyond recognition.

The Lagos State Police Command spokesperson, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the incident and stated that the police received a distress call at approximately 7:50 am, shortly after the fire had started.

He said based on the report, a team of policemen and firefighters were swiftly mobilised to the scene.

He said the fire which affected the whole building, was eventually put out.

“Investigation revealed that four yet-to-be identified staff of the company got burnt beyond recognition in the fire. Their corpses were evacuated to Infectious Disease Hospital (IDH) morgue at Yaba,” he said.

Authorities are likely investigating the cause of the fire, but no further details have been provided yet.
