
The Anambra State Police Command has confirmed the recovery of a vehicle belonging to Justice Azuka, a member of the State House of Assembly representing Onitsha North Constituency, who was abducted on December 24.
Azuka was reportedly kidnapped by unknown assailants while returning home along Ugwunapampa Road in Onitsha. Following the incident, police operatives launched an intensive rescue operation.
According to the police spokesperson, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the lawmaker's abandoned vehicle was discovered by a separate rescue team at Upper Iweka Road.
In response, the state Commissioner of Police, CP Nnaghe Obono Itam, has directed the rescue team to intensify their efforts to ensure Azuka’s safe recovery.
"The police remain committed to the Honourable member’s rescue and bringing the perpetrators to justice. We urge the public to provide any useful information that could assist in this mission," Ikenga stated.
Investigations into the abduction continue as the police work to unravel the motive behind the crime and locate Azuka.
