The Katsina State Hisbah Board has directed all private schools across the state to suspend academic activities for the entire duration of the Ramadan fasting period.
The directive, issued on Thursday by the board’s Commander-General, Malam Aminu Usman, is in compliance with a state government order aimed at enabling Muslim students to fully observe the holy month.
According to Usman, the order applies to both regular school sessions and extra lessons. He emphasized that strict adherence is expected and warned that any school found violating the directive would face consequences.
“The closure will provide pupils with the opportunity to participate fully in fasting and religious activities during Ramadan,” he stated.
The Hisbah Board, an Islamic enforcement agency backed by the state government, reiterated its commitment to upholding religious and moral principles in Katsina. School proprietors have been urged to cooperate to ensure the smooth implementation of the directive.
