Carlos Tevez has rejected the chance to apologise for refusing to play against Bayern Munich – and instead attempted to defend his professionalism.
The Manchester City striker looks certain to get his wish and be allowed to leave the Etihad Stadium after manager Roberto Mancini claimed he was “finished” at the club for his disgraceful behaviour in Germany.
Tevez claimed through an interpreter that he was “not feeling very good mentally” and then refused to accept any responsibility for his actions.
When questioned about his manager’s viewpoint that his career at Eastlands is over, he said: "It is his [Mancini's] decision. I've been professional in the last year.
“This last year I was the best scorer and I put my opinion through that I wanted to leave for family reasons but I keep trying to do my best."
