Call for US, UK to punish Nigeria over anti-gay law

Cape Town - Nigerian diaspora academics have reportedly called on the US and Britain to punish Nigeria with sanctions following the signing of an anti-gay bill into law by President Goodluck Jonathan last week.

According to Premium Times, 24 leading Nigerian academics, researchers and journalists spoke out forcefully against the newly enacted law, urging “civil society and human rights groups to start a campaign that we hope will soon result in its abolition”.

President Jonathan’s administration drew international condemnation after he approved the law that makes it illegal for homosegxwals to even hold meetings.   

Under the new law, anyone in a same-sex marriage or union would face up to 14 years in prison.

There were reports some Nigerian gays had already fled the country because of what they said was intolerance of their segxwal persuasion, and more were considering leaving.

May GOD punish US & UK for altering on NIGERIA, why can't they come by them self and implement the law, OBAMA can't impose himself on us, cos his not feeding us, we've our own money, we don't care what is going to happen, phyuk u OBAMA
