In a swift and strategic nighttime operation, troops of Sector 3 under the Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF) and Operation Hadin Kai have eliminated a suspected informant linked to the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) in Borno State.

The operation, conducted in the early hours of Friday, May 10, in the Karagawaru area of Kaga Local Government Area, was part of the ongoing *Operation Desert Sanity IV* and was executed by the 29 Task Force Brigade, according to a report by security analyst Zagazola Makama.

A military source revealed that the troops mounted an ambush at a known crossing route frequently used by insurgent collaborators. At approximately 12:30 a.m., the suspected ISWAP informant was spotted and swiftly engaged by the troops.

“The suspect was neutralised on the spot. Troops recovered a locally made Dane gun and a bicycle believed to be used for movement across remote terrain,” the source stated.

The operation concluded successfully with the troops returning to base by 3:40 a.m. without any casualties.

Military operations under Operation Desert Sanity IV continue to intensify as security forces target insurgents and their enablers in the region.
