Chairman of the Senate Committee on Privatization, Senator Gbenga Obadara, yesterday accused Nigerian journalists of theft following the loss of his phone at a press briefing held at the Kano Electricity Distribution Company, Kano The incident, which occurred shortly after the chairman addressed newsmen at the headquarters of the company, started when he raised an alarm that his cell phone was stolen at the conference hall of the company, venue of the briefing. Following this, the main entrance of the conference hall was closed, to enable security agents search all the newsmen that attended the occasion. However, moments before the search began, the senator who had already left the venue, discovered the phone. The announcement of the discovery was made by a member of the entourage. However, the company’s Head of Corporate Communication, Alhaji Muktar Baffa, apologized to the newsmen.

Too bad . You should have been more matured and search thoroughly for your phone before accusing the journalists of theft.You should be sued for this singular embarassing act . You steal everyday from people and just because you were blind enough to search for your hidden phone .you accused the innocent journalists .you think everyone is like you mr politician .!!!

You can't really blame him. When the journalists have demonstrated several times that a few thousands or a few packs of dangote spaghetti can make them write anything, what do you expect?

Journalist sold themselves so cheap to be called thief. This policical rascal should be arrested and sued for false allegation and alarm, sabotage of reputation.
