Muhammadu Buhari, presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), on Thursday left Abuja for the United Kingdom on a short working visit, Garba Shehu, spokesman of the APC Presidential Campaign Organisation, has disclosed.
Meanwhile, a source at the Peoples Democratic Party, Wadata Plaza Abuja without hesitation alleges that Buhari’s trip is for medical reasons and the leadership of the APC hasn’t been truthful about the purpose of it’s candidates trip to the UK.
The source who doesn’t want his name mentioned in print told reporters via telephone interview that the Presidential candidate of the APC has been ill in addition to the stress of his ongoing campaign.. “We will issue a statement to that effect and tell Nigerians to ask the so called “Progressives” why they haven’t been able to come out with the truth about Buhari’s failing health” the anonymous source said.
In the limelight, according to a statement signed by the spokesman of APC Presidential Campaign Organisation, Mallam Garba Shehu, Buhari is expected to meet with members of the British political establishment and interact with some global institutions with stakeholder interest in the affairs of Nigeria.
The organisation in the statement said that it has evidence that a top management staff of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) is behind the hate campaigns against Buhari and his family aired in the recent documentary by African Independent Television and Nigeria Television Authority.
Mr. Shehu further said the campaign office has confirmed that the agency was the sponsor of all the dirty campaigns against the APC presidential candidate on AIT, NTA and several other media platforms. Details on the Nation.
