Assemblies of God Church located at NO. 4 Nri Street Abakaliki, Ebonyi State has sanctioned 23 out of the 24 married men of the congregation for not wearing their wedding rings. The sanctioned husbands were fined between N1, 000 and N1, 300. The defaulters were spotted when the young singles and missionettes were marking an annual celebration held in the week and designed for them during which they invited prominent persons in the church as part of their programme. The church leaders examined all the fingers of the married men secretly and observed that virtually all the married men in the congregation were not wearing their wedding rings and publicly imposed the fines on them. The sanctioned men were ignorant of why they were called out to stand before the congregation and immediately filed out before the church when they were asked to do so by the moderator of the event. One of the leaders of the church, who declined to give his name, told our correspondent that the married men of the congregation were fined to teach them lesson of wearing their rings as part of their marital vow. He said people always respect married men with their wedding ring as act of faithfulness to their wives.

this church are just becoming too bold,just any opportunity to extort money from their congregations..the real idiots are the people who continue to attend this church after incidence like this..wearing a wedding ring does not make a man faithful to you ladies..A common sense person will stand up and walk out the church the moment any stupid pastor open their fraudulent mouth and say this
