LOBATAN! Do Not Wear Mini-skirt If You Do Not Want To Be Raped - Grace Mugabe

Zimbabwe's First Lady Grace Mugabe has sparked outrage after suggesting women are to blame for rape cause of clothes they wear.

According to reports from Zimbabwe, Grace said while addressing thousands of Zanu PF supporters at a rally in Mberengwa yesterday:
“If you walk around wearing mini skirts displaying your thighs and inviting men to drool over you, then you want to complain when you have been raped? It’s unfortunate
because it will be your fault.''
She called on women to wear long dresses or trousers. Grace said the type of dressing, which left women’s legs exposed, was a result of moral decadence.
“Wear clothes like Mai Mugabe or you can chose a trousers, but not those which are too tight. These types of clothes are the signs of moral decadence in our country,” Grace said.
The statement by the First Lady comes at a time women’s movements in Zimbabwe, Katswe Sisterhood held a demonstration in Harare demanding the right to dress as they please.

Former Katswe Sisterhood director, Winnet Shamuyarira said she was angered by Grace’s statement.

MDC-T spokesperson Obert Gutu said: “The statement by Grace is very disgraceful and denigrating to any woman and more so coming from a woman and the First Lady.”

very unfortunate way of thinking.....a rapist rapes because he wants to rape, whether you put on jeans pants or long skirt.

For me i put blame on these nowadays girls. they are the focing guys to do what they dnt want to do. imagine some girls we wear legis that show all shape of there body. they dnt knw all that attract guys, i knw they are proclaming themselve.

So as from now you girls should stop be wearing long shirt that will not show there body. So they should stop wearing anythn that will tight there body. i knw if all this stoped, molesting in the world will reduce.

what are about those that where not wearing mini skirts that where raped?,,,there should  be no excuse  for  a rapist,,,This woman is obviously an idiot..For anybody even considering this as a legitimate excuse..just imagine its your sister,aunty,mother or a female family member will you accept that its ok  to rape her because she is wearing a mini skirt..women should be able to wear whatever they feel comfortable in and be able to move around in their towns,cities or schools and not be molested.....NO MEAN NO...LET RESPECT OUR WOMEN

She speaks wisdom. In those days there were not much of rape. This is because they dress and cover themselves well, but now is totally different. So it's a simple comparison, the higher the naked dressings, the higher the rape cases and vice versa

True talk!! she did not mean the women molested deserve it, but she is saying the dressing with skimpy and reveling clothes increases the vulnerability to chances of rape. Men naturally are aroused by the nakedness of women, that is by seeing it live and direct, but women are aroused by touch. So women, help the restrain of rapists by keeping enough clothes over your sensitive sensual parts of your body.
