Mildred Okwo, an award winning Nollywood film producer and director, has expressed concerns at how movie producers churn out movies but have little or no financial reserves to fall back on whenever the need arises.

In this tweet, Mildred wonders how how movie actors, directors and producers run to the public for help when they fall ill  despite having over 100 movies to their names.

People always think being on screens, movies, music, spot light in general, solves personal issues.

The principal reason is the  very low pay for  actors and actresses ( you can attest to that ) and  the horrible sales arrangements and  campaign for Movies you all produce. You barely see Nollywood producers  travelling to especially other African countries to promote movies notwithstanding  the  continent being their largest market - sheepish huh. Barely relying on sentiments and  name recognition don't sell movie. Traverse the continent, Asia, etc  marketing the movie. In fact besides  salaries of actors and actresses, your heaviest budgetary allocation should be on marketing.
