Former dancer turned singer, Tipsy "Yewande" Enupo is now a qualified nurse in the UK and is advising other artists to get a insurance in place should their musical ambitions not go as planned. She explained that she came into music with high hopes and ambition as well and sometimes ask herself "Why am I so unlucky in life?", but for the persistent pressure from her mother to pursue a nursing career and have other source of income while she waits for her music to "blow".

She is now a qualified nurse in the UK and says she is happy that she will not have to wait for a record label as she can save money from her career to fund her music and have overall more control of her craft, here is her message below:
I started music couple of years back after being a dancer .. I loved music .. still do .. I hoped to blow , as time went on , I lost hope in that blow thing but one thing was for sure, that I wasn’t getting any younger . I know a lot of artistes feel like this music Na do or die but pls let me advice u, get a degree, have a side hustle so that when that music doesn’t pay on time u won’t be depressed as u have hoped on it as ur only source of income . Until this talent and passion starts to pay you, do something on the side that gives u money. A lot of times in the past , I would look at certain peoples page and think sigh why am I unlucky in life ? Why can’t I just blow , but when I got a job, my mindset changed . A lot of people blow without money in their account. Do u realise your music can be popular and u won’t have anything in ur account ? Even when you blow , this blow don’t last forever . Also, when you make money, U can invest it in ur music without waiting for a label or sponsors . Shout out to my mother that pushed the hell out of me to get a job . Taink

Yewande who is based in the UK is gracious to have been in a system that allows people to develop a career like Nursing and so on, unfortunately many people go into music in Nigeria due to lack of opportunities, infrastructures or other careers. We wish her all the best in her nursing career.
