A Nigerian doctor has taken to social media to advise the government on the best punishment for people flouting COVID-19 guidelines by clubbing.
According to @drbellanifemi, those caught in the act should be punished with community service at IDH Yaba.
IDH Yaba is an infectious disease hospital in Lagos state, and the doctor believes that a first hand experience of the virus would allow them take the virus more serious.
See what she wrote below;
I want the punishment for those violating Covid-19 rules, especially those arrested at clubs to be community service at IDH Yaba, let them come and be pushing oxygen cylinders into the wards and assist with moving bodies to morgue.
They will see the real situation firsthand and become the preacher when they return home.
Kindly put this into consideration.
Thank you
Dr Nifemi

It can be recalled that the Lagos police command on Friday night January 8, raided Colombia club in Victoria Island, Lagos State.
Club owners as well as the customers were reportedly arrested for violating the COVID-19 protocols. They were all whisked to the Maroko police station.
The Lagos state government on December 2020, barred all clubs and social activities from operating as part of measures to contend the spread of COVID19 due to the second wave of the pandemic.
