The federal government has been warned that any attempt to extend the date for naira swap will result in the boycott of the 2023 presidential election. Punch reported that thirteen political parties out of the 18 political parties in Nigeria on Monday issued the threat. The parties say they will withdraw from participating in the 2023 general elections slated for February 25 and March 11 if the Central Bank of Nigeria extends the deadline of February 10 for naira swap.

The parties have declared that they won’t be participating in the elections if the new deadline of February 10, 2023 is shifted again. The coalition of chairmen of political parties commended the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd), on the redesign of the N200, N500 and N1,000 banknotes and insisted that the policy must stand. The parties also knocked the Kaduna, Kogi and Zamfara state governments for heading to the Supreme Court to get court injunction to extend the deadline for the validity of three old notes.

The National Chairman of the Action Alliance, Kenneth Udeze, who briefed pressmen, said, “We hereby announce that at least 13 out of the 18 political parties in Nigeria will not be interested in the 2023 general elections and indeed we shall withdraw our participation from the electoral process if this currency policies are suspended or cancelled or if the deadline is further shifted.”

More details later…

No dear, the naira roll out and deadlines have got nothing to do with  anything connected with the suffering of the masses. Even if you   extend  the deadline to 2024, hardship and poverty will  not  be contained.  Tinubu and his APC party thinks that  one way they could  manipulate the electoral results is to  feign  fighting with the people, in reality  its Tinubu and his APC party who continue to  manipulate  the CBN governor with threats of  impeachment and  imprisonment if he does not   follow their  no-deadline   declaration. Tinubu  stole trillions of  government monies and he's confused that  his loot will become useless  if he cant  dish out to buy votes  hence most people will prefer the new notes .. Do you recall one of his boys screaming about the  'ASK Rock cabal' ,  i think  Rufai and his boss Tinubu thinks that the president  and his officials including the CBN governor are  all out to knockout Tinubu.

The sufferings of Nigerians over this Naira re-coloring which will altogether not last for more than 2 months is not to be compared to the sufferings that started since 2015 till date under this APC government, so we will not compromise our future just because of an extra 18 days of suffering. We have mastered the craft of ''Managing'' all these years, and that particular virtue will see us through the remaining days before the election. PEACE BE STILL.

Oshiomole said it all. Buhari should have been intelligent enough to trust obedient Emefele less.  The idiots pointing accusing finger at Tinubu failed to realise most Nigerian political Figures are Bank Owners; while Tinubu is generous with his money, Others are tightfisted while they claim to save money for their governments, a claim their Successors could not discover with a magnifying glass.
