A young man has had his life cut short by police officers who allegedly chased him into a river where he drowned.
The sad incident happened in the Ubeji/ Egbokodo Itsekiri Community both in Warri South local government area of Delta state.
According to posts on X, the officers who are of the Operation Delta Hawk, chased the deceased into a nearby River (lake) at Deeper life road waterside.
Reacting to the report on X, the spokesperson of the state police command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, said no one has received any information about the deceased man. He called on the family of the deceased to come forward to report the case to assist the police.
‘’Pls while we are investigating, To this moment, we have not received any information from anybody on d identity of the victim and what happened apart from the post on Twitter. Anyone who can assist should pls go to Ubeji police post or A division warri. Especially fr his family''
