
Former Nigerian international Ogenyi Onazi has lost his beloved mother, as he questions what life would be without her.
Onazi, who recently signed for Hong Kong Premier League club Kitchee, has been part of the Super Eagles set up since 2012, making 52 appearances.
The former Lazio of Italy star took to social media to announce the passage of his beloved mother, penning an emotional statement.
It was reported that the midfielder, who was part of the Super Eagles squad that won the Africa Cup of Nations title in 2013, was fond of his mom.
He cherished spending his holidays back in the central Nigerian city of Jos with his mother and older brothers, Oche and Agbo, with Oche as his biggest influence.
But it was hiss mother who would buy him kits and register him with local teams and tournaments.
In 2016, the player was pictured helping his mother to pound yam, as they prepared pounded yam, which is popular in Sub-Saharan Africa.
And now the player says she is no more. He wrote:
“Will life be the same without you? I doubt so. Your departure has turned a lot around. I can’t help but miss you MOMMY.. My heart bleeds. Rest well.”
