A Ghanaian man identified as Augustine Kofi Poku survived an acid attack allegedly arranged by his former girlfriend.
Augustine had been dating his ex-girlfriend since 2016 and supporting her financially until she became increasingly controlling and possessive. She reportedly hid his passport to prevent him from leaving the country and sent her lover, a Pragya driver, to attack him.
The attack, which occurred just days before his planned departure, left him hospitalised for nearly three months. Despite the excruciating pain, Augustine managed to identify the assailant as he recognised his ex-girlfriend’s voice during the attack. He bravely identified the perpetrator to the police, leading to his arrest and subsequent conviction. The assailant was found guilty and sentenced to 10 years in prison.
In the emotional video on TikTok, augustine1to4 admitted that he regretted his past. “How I wish life could go back for me to correct my mistakes,” he captioned the photos.
