Authorities are on the lookout for Fatai Mogaji, who is accused of fatally stabbing his ex-girlfriend, Opeyemi, in Ikorodu. The tragic incident has sparked widespread outrage and calls for justice on social media.
According to a post on X by Opeyemi’s sister, the young woman encountered Mogaji at Bells Bar Itamaga in the early hours of July 10, 2024. The pair reportedly spent time together until an argument ensued around 5 a.m., culminating in Mogaji allegedly stabbing Opeyemi 22 times. He fled the scene immediately after the attack.
"The landlord called the police," the sister wrote. "Please help me find this guy Fatai Mogaji. He lives in Elepe, Ikorodu. The case is under investigation. I saw my sister in her blood. He stabbed her in the eyes, different body parts... Nigeria has happened to me, God."
Details from the post reveal that Mogaji allegedly left Opeyemi's body in the kitchen, locked the door, and intended to return to clean up the scene. The police are actively investigating the case and have appealed to the public for any information on Mogaji’s whereabouts.
The gruesome murder has left the community in shock and has led to an outpouring of grief and demands for swift justice from friends, family, and social media users.
