The recently resurfaced video of Prophet Jeremiah Fufeyin Omoto, a Nigerian pastor known for his dramatic miracles, has sparked widespread reactions online.
The video, which features Prophet Fufeyin demonstrating how to "battle the devil," gained attention due to its theatrical content. In the footage, he is seen claiming to save two young men allegedly struck by thunder sent by the devil.
This controversy follows an earlier conflict between Prophet Fufeyin and social activist Martin Otse, also known as Verydarkman (VDM). VDM had accused Prophet Fufeyin of improperly selling his so-called divine powers, leading him to report the pastor to the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC). In retaliation, Prophet Fufeyin filed a N1 billion lawsuit against VDM. However, the lawsuit was later withdrawn.
The new video has reignited discussions among Nigerians, with many expressing skepticism about the authenticity of Fufeyin's miracles and criticizing the sensationalism surrounding his ministry. Others have supported him, viewing his actions as an expression of faith
