A Kenyan food scientist, Dr Dennis Adison Ouma, has made an observation after a Nigerian woman celebrated her relocation to a foreign country.

The lady, Lilian Nkemdirim had taken to X on Thursday, September 12, to announce her relocation, a dream she's been nursing since 2022.

“Nigeria will be great one day!!! Bye,” she wrote.

Commenting on the post, Dr. Ouma said something must be terribly wrong with Nigeria for its citizens to be so euphoric about leaving their country.

According to him, he has never seen Kenyans celebrating when leaving their country but it is not the same for Nigerians.

He stated that there is indeed a brain drain crisis in Nigeria.

“There is Something terribly wrong with Nigeria. Why are Nigerians this EUPHORIC when leaving their country to USA, UK, Western world. I have never seen Kenyans celebrating leaving Kenya, in fact they wish they don't leave Kenya. But Nigerians celebrate leaving their country every hour on social media. There is indeed a brain drain crisis in Nigeria,” he wrote.

It is leadership problem. Nigeria has every potential to be one of the super powers, but rather, we find ourselves as citizens of the poorest country on earth. The work you do top get peanuts in Nigeria could build mansions if done in the Western World, so keep your philosophy and stop crying more than the bereaved.
