On Tuesday afternoon, the police tracked the kidnappers to Nambe Adikpo town in Kwande Local Government Area, where they engaged the suspects in a gunfight.
"During the operation, one suspect was shot and later confirmed dead by a doctor. Another suspect was arrested, while two others fled the scene," the statement said.
Authorities recovered a loaded AK-47 rifle, three magazines, and live ammunition from the deceased suspect.
