So sorry dear...it is a big heartbreak to face what you are facing now.  You shared that you decided to trust the guy, even when some were telling you to be cautious.  There were probably other signs you saw with your own eyes and ignored because you couldn't believe the guy would treat you badly?  Good for you, for standing your ground and not getting pregnant out of wedlock for him.   

It is my hope that you don't allow this experience to rob your joy or interfere with who you are suppose to be for the man to come who is truly yours because all guy are not like this/nor are all Igbo guys (but sorry to say-many ooo).  I pray that you do not allow anger, bitterness or resentment to take root.  Who you wanted the guy to be and who he really was...two different people entirely. Who the guy really was, it seems he didn't love you at all...so let go soonest and move on with your life.  Live and learn...and hope you one day forgive him, if you have not already.  Take heart and know that what one does to others, they also do to themselves...so, he will not get away with hurting you.
