Mind you, the guy is trying to install light rail for us in Lagos and trying to start an independent power supply company that will not be holding our electricity like your power holding.

Reading some comments on this post makes it clear why it is taking Nigeria generations to prosper. The mentality that many hold are too selfish and primitive. I drive past high ranking military officials in Humvees and other military vehicles in traffic, here in the States. If this military officials were on duty, i believe the military would have assigned an escort crew to aid them in traffic. I was in Nigeria earlier this year and I saw several military vehicles dash by with their escorts and sirens blaring.

As the ruling Governor, Fashola has every right to arrest an offender...you must not know what the responsibilities of a governing body or person is (to those that asked why would he make an arrest when he is not a cop). I have seen the Mayor of my city pull a State Trooper over for violating a traffic sign when his emergency signal wasn't on.

Nigeria will someday see the light of improvement, but it'll take serious makeovers to the way our people think and see each other. If multitudes can die because they were trying to scavenge fuel from a tipped over tanker...
