i believe it can last for 3-4yrs no matter how inferior it is. if a brand new car bought for N400,000.00 gives you good service for 4yrs, i think it's ok. afterall, i've seen people hiring a car for N70,000 per day.

well said charlydyke, the tata indigo and indica models are already doing well in Nigeria offering affordable yet reliable motoring, however, the nano is strictly an entry-level car with overtly basic features; its tiny and gutless engine, spartan interior, uninspiring design and generally dated mechanicals puts out of the league of comparable ultramodern superminis such as the kia picanto, hyundai getz, peugeot 107, nissan micra, honda jazz, fiat 500 and the like; no question, the tata nano holds the promise of cheap and frugal motoring, at an affordable price, but the motoring industry in Nigeria goes far beyond the question of pocket friendliness when purchasing; even issues of  long-term durability or reliability are not the ultimate as far as car purchase is concerned in Nigeria;  i say welcome to the nano, but it would be interesting to see how this car measures up to the typical Nigerian standards for integrity, image, character, style and overall cachet in the motoring arena

It's already practicable in India.  I think it will be a nice idea if it is lunched in Nigeria.  Believe it or not "A brand new car is always a car".  Having tastes or driving big cars does not mean you are the greatest.  In the Holy Land, Limousine, E-class M/Benz are used for Passengers, most farmers  used Jeeps for the conveyance of their farm produce.  Back in Naija, when you ride on Limo, na baba, E-class, senator and Jeep, big boy, rubbish.  My people, make dem come abeg.
