Remember this lady, Jessica Edionwele, who was declared missing some days back? Jessica daughter of Hon. Edionwele, representing Esan Constituency, Edo State, last Wednesday was reported to have left Ibadan, Oyo State, where she was serving, for Lagos to board an aircraft to Abuja. She was said to have landed Abuja safely but took an airport taxi that drove her away to an unknown destination. Well, according to Thisday newspaper, not only was she found safe and sound, but was found with her lover in Lugbe, Abuja. When the family came out to announce yesterday that she had been found, many wondered exactly under what circustances she was found and felt the family were hiding details. Now the full gist is out and it is quite hilarious. While family and friends were terribly worried for what would have befallen Jessica, she allegedly gave her father’s telephone number to her ‘abductor’, who claimed that if the Honourable wanted his daughter back alive, he should pay a ransom. Someone who saw the girl in the neighbourhood alerted the police, who then traced her whereabouts and arrested her and the 'kidnapper'/lover. It seems they had an agreement to extort money from the dad.
