The convener of RevolutionNow protest, Omoyele Sowore has charged the citizens of Nigeria to be awake in the face of challenge as people who sleep during revolution are “liabilities of history”.

The former presidential candidate posted a qoute of the legendary American activist Martin Luther King Jr on his Facebook and Twitter pages on Friday after his release from four months detention.

Omoyele Sowore was charged and arraigned for treason by the Buhari led federal government for organizing a nationwide revolution protest against bad governance.

The activist was granted bail the court but rearrested by the Secret Service Security outfit DSS a day after his release.

Local and international pressure made the federal government release him a week after.

Omoyele Sowore took to his Facebook and Twitter handle and said
Quote
“One of the great liabilities of history is that all too many people fail to remain awake through great periods of social change. Every society has its protectors of status quo and its fraternities of the indifferent who are notorious for sleeping through revolutions. Today, our very survival depends on our ability to stay awake, to adjust to new ideas, to remain vigilant and to face the challenge of change.

-Martin Luther King, Jr.”
