In a recent operation, troops of Operation Hadarin Daji successfully rescued 16 Almajiris and a woman who were abducted in the Gada Local Government Area of Sokoto State.

The abduction occurred following an invasion by terrorists on March 9, 2024, in the LGA, according to reports.

In a statement issued on Saturday by the Director of Media Operations, Maj. Gen Buba Edward, the Defence Headquarters highlighted the collaborative effort between the military, local authorities, and government agencies in facilitating the rescue operation.

"The rescued hostages have been handed over to the Sokoto State Government for further action," the statement read.

Maj. Gen. Edward emphasized the military's commitment to leveraging its resources to locate and rescue abducted victims across the country. He reiterated the military's determination to ensure the apprehension and prosecution of terrorists and other non-state actors involved in abducting citizens.

"Additionally, the armed forces are extending all of its efforts and resources to find other innocent hostages and track down the terrorists that perpetrated these crimes," he stated.

The Director of Media Operations also addressed the military's resolve to apprehend the perpetrators responsible for the recent killing of 18 soldiers in Okuama Community, Delta State, on March 14, 2024.

"To curb the freedom of action of terrorists and the perpetrators of insecurity across the country, the military has released banners of wanted terrorists and their cohorts," Maj. Gen. Edward announced. "The deployment of the banner is for ease of recognition and arrest of the wanted persons. The public is urged to cooperate and report, please."

The successful rescue operation in Sokoto State demonstrates the military's ongoing efforts to combat insecurity and protect civilians from the threats posed by terrorists and criminal elements across Nigeria.

Hard to find a northerner living in the North that has not been kidnapped once or twice. However , I have no pity for them owing to their undying belief that Igboman will not rule Nigeria.
