Operatives of the National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have raided a warehouse in the Victoria Garden City (VGC) area of Lekki, Lagos, recovering a significant quantity of non-medical nitrous oxide, commonly known as laughing gas.
During the raid on Monday, July 8, 2024, the NDLEA officials seized 148 cartons of the substance, which included 108 cartons of fast gas cylinders, 134 balloons, and 109 cartons of infusion chargers, among other items. A female suspect, identified as Suliyat Abdulsalam, was arrested in connection with the operation.
The raid highlights the ongoing efforts by the NDLEA to curb the illegal distribution and use of controlled substances across the country.
