
Paris, Gistmania – Tobi Amusan has been chosen as Team Nigeria’s flag bearer for the opening ceremony of the 2024 Olympic Games, according to a statement by Tony Nezianya, the press officer of the Nigeria Olympic Committee (NOC).
Amusan, the reigning world champion in the 100m hurdles, is one of Nigeria’s strongest contenders for a medal in Paris. Her outstanding performance on the global stage has made her a key figure in Nigeria's Olympic team.
Anuoluwapo Opeyori, a seasoned badminton player, has been appointed as the team captain. Opeyori has been a prominent representative of Nigeria in international badminton since 2017. He secured victories in the singles event at both the African Championships and African Games in 2019 and competed in the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
The 2024 Olympic Games will officially commence in Paris this Friday, with high hopes for Nigeria’s talented athletes.
