Bolaji Idowu, the Lead Pastor of Harvesters International Christian Center, has ignited a heated debate with his advice to women dealing with unfaithful husbands. In a video that went viral on social media platform X, Pastor Idowu urged wives to stop lamenting about their husbands’ infidelity and instead use positive affirmations to bring about change.
Pastor Idowu emphasized the power of spoken words, arguing that labeling a husband as a "cheater" only reinforces the behavior. He advised wives to speak words of righteousness over their husbands, declaring God's truth rather than focusing on their faults.
"Any small thing, my husband is a serial cheater," Pastor Idowu said in the video. "What you are saying is a problem because you are adding to his problem by confessing it. If your husband is a cheater, confess righteousness over him. Look at him with tears and say, ‘Honey, I know what you did. I know it was very bad, but you are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. You are a holy man of God.'"
He further explained that by speaking light into darkness, the words can influence behavior. "Next time when he's driving and sees that lady, the head will say 'look,' but he will say, 'I'm the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus,'" Idowu added, highlighting the belief that people rise and fall according to the words spoken over them.
The pastor's advice has sparked mixed reactions, with some applauding the approach as faith-based encouragement, while others criticize it as dismissive of the seriousness of infidelity.
