Seven people are missing following severe flooding that ravaged parts of Niger State early Friday morning. The flood, triggered by relentless overnight rainfall, struck Sabon Pegi in Mashegu Local Government and Nasarawa in Magama Local Government.

The heavy downpour, which began at 2 a.m. and persisted until noon, caused widespread destruction. Over 89 houses were destroyed, three vehicles were swept away, and hundreds of hectares of farmland were submerged, leaving the affected communities in disarray.

This disaster is the latest in a series of flooding incidents across Nigeria, where heavy rains and overflowing rivers have wreaked havoc on homes, infrastructure, and livelihoods. The frequency and severity of these floods have displaced thousands, underscoring the urgent need for humanitarian assistance, including shelter, food, and medical aid for those impacted.
