The Amaeze community in Nsukka Local Government Area of Enugu State is engulfed in shock, fear and mourning following the tragic de.aths of four family members on Sunday, September 1, 2024
The victims, which included a woman, her daughter, mother, and sister, were found de.ad in their sleep, leaving the entire community in shock.
While the exact cause of de.aths remains unclear, some residents on social media have speculated that food poisoning might be the culprit, as the victims had shared a meal the previous night.
HRH Igwe Felix Ugwu, the traditional ruler of the community, confirmed the incident, revealing that one of the victims, identified as Mama Chijioke Amaeze, had been caring for her ailing mother before the mysterious event took their lives.
Though officers from the Nsukka Police Division have taken the victims to the hospital for autopsy and investigation, the community is turning to spiritual means to uncover the cause of the tragedy.
“We have not witnessed anything like this in the history of this community. We are making efforts to determine what could have led to this tragedy,” Igwe Ugwu stated.
