The clause was for the man to take care of the youngest wife............and I can as well interprete it to mean financially.........the guy doesnt have to marry her to fulfil his father's desire.........was it Ruben or who in the bible slept with his father's wife and he got punished for it.........the guy shouldnt take over his father's widow..........

Easy to say than to be done ! with the condition of things nowadays many guys will not argue the offer, as long as their father's wealth is worth the stress. for example if the father is well known and very wealthy.... this kind of offer could be addressed as beautiful nonsense, One stands a chance to loose fortune that will take him years to build like his father did. Look at it from another angle, someone who doesn't have a choice or a future getting such opportunity to become a billionaire over night, will not hesitate to grab the offer.. if the young lady attached to it is still in her late twenties, what else do he want ? if the worst be, He will grab another wife and join that one Marry another wife join? What if your religion does not permit it? If the religion does not permit that, Why did the father in the first place marry many that he has to attach one to whoever will inherit his wealth? So in that case Religion must allow the 2nd wife.

Marriage is not the only way , But in this case, is a clause placed by the Father, because he knew that if the son might forget to take care of her youngest wife the way he wanted, if the son will someday take a wife, so in this case it seems like attaching her to the wealth to make sure she get all requirement without stopping. The way i see it, for instance, i'm in such situation and i take up the lady as a wife to inherit such wealth, I don't think i will ever sleep with her in the same room, to me it means a kind of contract agreement, it will never stop me from marrying who i love, and that person I love must understand the situation on ground and she will be the one to bear my children not my contract wife.
