A Nigerian man has sparked online outrage after sharing a troubling story of how his sister was arrested by police under disturbing circumstances.

The man, in a post on X (formerly Twitter), revealed that his sister, who was experiencing severe purging, stopped at a police checkpoint with a friend to ask for directions to the nearest restroom.

According to him, the officers directed them to a nearby bush. However, while she was undressing to relieve herself, one officer reportedly followed her and began making inappropriate comments about her body.

The situation escalated when her friend intervened to defend her. The officer allegedly slapped the friend, leading to the arrest of both women. The two are now in police custody, spending their second night in detention.

“If I tell you that my sister is in the police station just because she was purging and they had to stop at a checkpoint for ‘safety,’ you won’t believe it,” the man wrote. “One of the policemen went to where my sister was relieving herself and started making comments about her body while she was butt naked. Her friend defended her, and that’s how the officer slapped her and arrested both of them.”

The post quickly gained traction online, with users expressing shock and condemnation over the alleged abuse of power. Many criticized the actions of the officer, demanding accountability and justice for the women involved.

Human rights advocates have called for an investigation into the incident, describing it as a clear case of harassment and misuse of authority.

98% of the Nigeria police members are not fit to be in service. Police should be made to serve in their local government of origin.
